Why does 1983 Rx7 engin die when gas pedal is pressed from cold start-have to pump pedal to keep from stalling when starting off until engin is warm-carborator has been rebuilt-accel pump too?

They do not run cold. It must be completely warmed up before driving or you can damage the engine. Just a peculiarity of the engine.
