Diesel engine fire off of compression.....they do not have firing mechanisms like spark plugs on gas engines.... It takes more power to turn the diesel engine over to start firing off compression so you need two batteries
The F350 is a two axle vehicle.
An F350 diesel will have them both under the hood, towards the front of the engine, with one on either side of the engine. The two batteries wired in parallel gives greater cranking amperage.
The only similarity between these two cars is that they both have four wheels. Everything else is different.
This was an option, for anticipated additional electrical load.
The height for that 2001 Ford Explorer Sport is 68.2 inches.
open tailgate, look for two screws between light and tailgate, remove screws and pry out light pulling straight back.
Two
one
My F350 has two pumps, one in each tank. The tank switch turns each pump on.
It takes a lot of amps to heat the glow plugs and turn over a motor with such high compression at the same time.
It doesn't have 2 batteries..
It was built with two batteries, yes.
