Its probably not an issue with the Power Steering or its pump. Might be the rack(power steering rack). This can allow air into system after engine off or idle. If you can see PSF circulating while engine is running, you'll know for sure its not the power steering pump.
Rack work isn't as cheap but will be an easier fix then rebuilding your $3000 tranny. You can also tell if its a rack issue if there is squealing or any other strange noises while turning wheel. Good luck.

power steering fluid is fluid that makes the power steering pump work and it goes in the power steering pump under the hood.
The power steering fluid recommended is Mopar
Remove the plug on the bottom of the power steering fluid pump. Drain the power steering fluid out. Replace the plug to the bottom of the power steering pump. Replace the power steering fluid.

Red is the "normal" power steering fluid. If you can't get "power steering fluid," Dexron automatic transmission fluid is the same stuff. Clear is Honda power steering fluid.
