Because it apparently perceives them as a virus or other potential threat, so automatically removes them. It could be right, but chances are it's wrong because it's a hopeless AV program. Right or wrong, it shouldn't remove it without your authorisation, which just goes to show how hopelessly unintuitive and incompetent it is.

There's two ways you can do this. 1. - Find where you want to download it from. - right click on the link - go to save as... - save it in your memory stick's drive and that's it! 2. -Download all your links to wherever you want - go to all your downloaded files - right click - click send to > - > Then click on the drive with your memory stick.

Format it
1. Open your file manager, usually Explore. (One way to open is to right-click on Start and select Explore.) 2. Look under Computer at all the drives. Usually you will have C: and D: etc. 3. Plug the memory stick into a USB port on the laptop. 4. You will see a new drive appear in the file manager (ex. E:). 5. If a popup window appears asking what you want to do with the memory stick, just delete it. 6. Move files from drive to drive just as you would move files around your laptop. 7. Before you remove the memory stick, it is best to look at your taskbar where the clock is, and click on the picture of the USB connector, and click on the "Safely Remove..." line that is your new drive. But if you don't do this, if you just pull out the memory stick, that will be OK.
