Best Answer

Blocking is a function used only when contributors fail to change their behaviour on the site or if they have ignored the warnings sent to them by a Supervisor or Community Assistant and continue with their actions that have gained them a warning in the first place. The length a contributor is blocked for depends on the severity of his/her infractions to the site's Terms of Use. Blocks can last from as short as a few minutes to permanent.
