Because California lies on a major earthquake fault (the san andreas), while Texas is nowhere near a fault zone.
California lies along several major faultlines and is on the Pacific Rim. Actually, Oklahoma has more earthquakes than CA due to fracking.
California has more earthqakes than Massachusetts
more techtonic plate coliding in California
Japan. It has a lot of earthquakes, and is one of the most affected areas in the world. Because of their technology level (compared to countries like Indonesia and Fiji), Japan is the country with the most earthquakes reported each year. Though, that doesn't mean it's the country with the most earthquakes. But it certainly has more earthquakes than California.

California is situated on a tectonic plate boundary, whereas New Jersey is not. It also has a fault located near by and when there is stress put on that fault it causes seismic activity.
The State of California grows more peaches than any other state.
California has more earthquakes then Florida, because California sits along the San Andreas Fault line. ( )-improvement, actually California sits on a series of many fault lines, the San Andreas only being one of them. San Andreas runs most of the length of the coast of California and is well known because it has a hard "kink" near LA which causes more violent earthquakes when it shifts, and can actually be seen in the topography of some areas of California from overhead. These fault lines are also a part of the "ring of fire" which causes the majority of the earthquakes and volcanoes along the West Coast of N America, Japan, and many of the Island chains of the Pacific.
In my opinion, yes. California has a much more diverse and open minded community when it comes to people. It also is much richer in terms of citizens and GDP. California also has much more importance in terms of government as the state has more power than Georgia (one example being in the House). California also has nicer weather than Georgia in my opinion. Summers are not too hot for the most part and winters are mild, whereas in Georgia, summers are blazing and winters can be cold.
Yes, California has earthquakes. EVERYWHERE has earthquakes. California is actually the biggest earthquake risk zone in the United States.Calafornia does have earthquakes it is actually the top state or whatever to have the most earthquakes in the world i thinkCalafornia does have earthquakes it is actually the top state or whatever to have the most earthquakes in the world i think
No it is not. In fact these states are the ones that have the most and strongest earthquakes Texas, Nevada, Arizona, Washington, and California. The reason that you hear about California so much is because California it is right by the fault line. So the plates collide mostly on the border of the US, which is California.
Earthquakes with lower magnitude can cause more damage than higher ranking earthquakes because sometimes the buildings are easier to break in some areas than others for example : an earthquake with a 6 on the richtor scale in Texas may do more damage than a 7 on the richtor scale in California.
More earthquakes occur underwater than above land
