George encourages Lennie to fight back when Curley hits him because he wants Lennie to defend himself and not be seen as an easy target. George knows Lennie is strong and doesn't want him to be taken advantage of physically.

∙ 10y agoWhen curly eats his lunch lennies is confused for an odd reason and is scared frozen and curly punchs him because curly is frightned of lennies eyes and lennie stops being scared after a moment and fights back.
