To understand this we must know the unique nature of Hinduism, the purpose of Hindu gods and the Musical Instruments associated with them.

The Unique feature of Hinduism:

Hinduism is not a code of conduct based religion. In this the inertial force that facilitates or retards what we do is manipulated to gain control over our thoughts and actions.

We vary the inertial force by moving the center of gravity.

The seven basic Hindu gods:

There are seven centers of gravity in our body and each of them is represented by a Hindu god.

They are,

1. Feet - Indra

2. Knees - Shakti

3. Hips - Brahma

4. Abdomen - Vishnu

5. Chest - Shiva

6. Neck - Shani

7. Head - Yama.

Hindu gods and musical instruments:

The idols of each of the seven basic Hindu gods is such that a mere look at them would move our center of gravity to the position associated with it. The music associated with the god makes the shifting of the center of gravity more reliable and precise.

Vishnu and the conch:

Vishnu symbolically represents water because he symbolizes the semi voluntary force, which makes life flexible. He is associated with Conch, which is found in water.

Disadvantages of Vishnu:

1. Vishnu is a status quo maintaining god. This is a disadvantage in the materialistic world.

2. He determines our status by our average skill and thus he is more suited for people at the top.

Krishna - the god of the masses:

The two disadvantages of Vishnu are overcome in the Krishna incarnation, by discarding all components of the Semi voluntary force except the Positive attitude. Thus, Krishna is symbolic of the positive attitude.

This means that Krishna can't be associated with water and conch.

Krishna and the flute:

Krishna is the last incarnation of Vishnu. Buddha is not widely accepted as an incarnation of Vishnu. Kalki incarnation is yet to be seen.

Krishna is a god of the masses. He represents just the positive attitude, which is vital for our survival. We must have a musical instrument, which can take us to our positive attitude, situated at the lowest part of our abdomen. The musical instrument must be such that it is available every where.

Flute is the simplest and the cheapest musical instrument. It is made from a peace of bamboo, which is available everywhere in India.

Thus, we always associate Krishna with a flute, as it is a short cut to our positive attitude.
