He vowed to get her back and in so doing, went down to the underworld. He was an excellent lyre player and was worthy of the muses. Supposedly his playing could make rocks cry (from joy, not pain!) He played his lyre for Hades and Hades was moved enough to agree to let Orpheus take his beloved Eurydice back above ground-with one little catch. Orpheus could not look back as he exited the Underworld to look at Eurydice or else she would remain forever in the Underworld. Joyfully, he led Eurydice to the entrance of the Underworld, but right before he came above ground, he looked back at Eurydice. She was forced to remain in the Underworld and Orpheus later died. (I know it had to do something with female wood-somethings attacking him, but I don't remember...)

Once you have recovered the Five Sacred Items (pearl, hydra scale, minotaur ring, flower, and whisker), you cannot immediately enter the Throne Rooms, because it will take the strength of Hercules (and he won't help). Instead, return to the Tree of Immortality where Athena will help you assemble a secret message on the items. When Zeus appears and steals them, Athena will send you back for Hercules, who will finally agree to help you reach the two Throne Rooms. You will need the Touchscreen Mirror from Aphrodite's test in the realm of Poseidon.

There are many versions of how it happened that Persephone ate a few seeds of the pomegranate. In one of them Hades tricks her into it by first telling her that she is now free to go. Persephone then rejoices and let's her guard down and that is when he slips a few seeds into her mouth; she either doesn't notice or automatically swallows them. She probably didn't agree to eat them.
