I have owned a 1989, 1995, 2003, and now a 2004 Honda Accord. I loved the first two Accords and never had one single problem with those 2 that I put almost 100,000 miles on. But I cannot recommend the 2003 or 2004. There are problems with the radio, brake master cylinder, and most of all the automatic transmission failed on my 2004 at 75,000 miles, and there was a recall on the 2003 for transmission problems. Honda to their credit did provide a new transmission free of charge even though the car was out of warranty, but I had to pay $1,000 in labour costs. I suspect the 2005 and up problems with the transmission have been solved but I am not 100% sure. the bottom line is no, I do not think the 2004 is a reliable vehicle.
