If you do not play online (in browser) for 1-2 hours within a certain amount of time. I'm not Exactly sure how long that is, 5 days to a week, before you are allowed to play offline (downloaded w/o internet or fake username/password) again. Sorry if you have already solved this from another scorce.
The regular download as of Minecraft 1.8 is the Beta Minecraft. The last Minecraft update I believe will be the "Final" product and official game and no longer be a game in Beta.
1. Download beta(Not in browser, go to minecraft.net then press download beta, then press download, then run the .exe file. 2. Enter your username and password, then press login 3. Update, if it asks you to. 4. Close the game window. The next time you want to play offline, just enter random username and random password, then press play offline.
The only Minecraft download is Minecraft Beta, which is available for £13.95 or around AUD 22.13

no
You can find it on the Minecraft forums.
The Minecraft game can be played for free, as a beta version, on the Minecraft website. This version does not require the user to download any files.
Unless the download is hosted from Minecraft.net or a website that minecraft has given the writes to host the files is it legal.
Go to MINECRAFT.NET and log in. Then, where it says Minecraft Beta (in browser/download) Click Download... Then, you download it like any other file, and log in... And your in!
you cant. once you have updated there is no going back.
Minecraft beta is not free, you have to pay to play it. Any website attempting to give you Minecraft for free is illegal. If you find a site like this do not download anything from it as it is not only illegal, but may contain viruses.
