Topicana is a bot (short for "robot"). It runs off software. The software uses an algorithm that looks for key words in the question and tries to guess where it belongs. In its early stages, Topicana got almost everything wrong (you could follow its contributions and rack up contribution points pretty quickly). It has since been improved, and it learns from our recategorizations where to put questions. It makes mistakes, but it is still learning. Give it a chance. If you find that it has made a mistake, just correct it. That is all that can be done, but it will help.

Why does this site always never answer any of your questions?

Actually, this site answers many questions. It is just that answers are not usually immediate. Sometimes people give inappropriate answers and they have to be cleared so others can see the questions and have the chance to give appropriate answers. It is possible that others don't know the answer, so you have to wait until someone can answer. Now, if you ask the question poorly, don't categorize it correctly, or break the rules, you might not get any answer.

Some peoples questions are weird and/or embarrassing to even talk about. And sometimes your questions are so obscure that it will have to come across the right person to be answered correctly, and who knows how long that's gonna take.

WikiAnswers does not assume categories. When you open the categorize tool or ask a question and have to categorize it the tool takes keywords from what the question is asking and gives you suggestions on where to add the question to.

Why does Answers.com never help?

Answers.com never works because it is stupid and lets others answer the questions that most of the time never even know what they are talking about! Don't get me wrong it sometimes works but hey, look at how many questions you have that never get answered correctly!

Why aren't all the questions answered?

The questions on this site are answered by people like you, that come to the site and want to help other people. More people ask than answer. Why not pitch in and answer a few questions yourself? It will also help if the questions are spelled correctly and they have all the information necessary. Sometimes we can't answer because we don't know what you are referring to.

Why don't you have all the answers?

There is a wide variety of people that are on this site with a lot of knowledge should they want to use it correctly. Sometimes questions are pushed back into the deep depths of the website and not seen. You're going to have some patience as there are a lot of questions that are submitted everyday.

Why does WikiAnswers never answer your question?

Sometimes it can take a while. There are over 7,000 categories, and who knows how many questions. What I would suggest is to rephrase the question and ask it again. Make sure to categorize the question under the best category/categories [up to 3], that it would fall under.

Do you enjoy answering questions?
