Your 2001 Toyota corolla SHOULDN'T use 1 quart of oil for every refill of the gas tank. If yours is doing this, i would stop driving it immediately because if you lose enough oil, your engine will overheat and cease itself in place, literally welding it so it will never move again. I believe that you have a very severe oil leak and would get it checked right away.
Well, Find out the capacity of your engine, say 2.5 liter, and there you go. a quart is just short of a liter, btw.
Most 2006 Corolla's have a 4.4 quart oil capacity. The XRS had a slightly larger capacity, due to increased horsepower rating.
The 2001 Toyota Corolla engine oil capacity is 4.5 quarts of motor oil. For quarts of oil will go into the engine and one half quart of oil will be in the oil filter.
It takes 5 quarts or 5 single 1 quart bottle of oil.
I don't know the year but typically most Corollas have a 4 quart capicity with filter change.
