The 3 higher-denomination coins (quarter, half, and dollar) were all redesigned in honor of the Bicentennial. The quarter featured a Revolutionary War drummer boy, the half had Independence Hall, and the dollar had the Liberty Bell and the moon.
Subjects were chosen as emblematic of the Revolution; the moon was included to indicate America's progress and success as shown by the space program.
Hundreds of millions of these coins were struck and put into circulation. Unless you have one that's uncirculated or proof and in its original holder, they have little or no extra value except as conversation pieces.
