Too much Transmission Fluid in the trans or pressure build up. Check the fluid level as outlined in your owners manual. If it is not overfull, take the vehicle to a transmission professional.
First if it's a Automatic transmission you drive it around some to get it warm then you check the dipstick level if its on the full mark then it's fine. With a manual transmission you have can just check the dipstick.
Somewhere around the gearbox in the engine bay.
Your manual transmission does not have a dipstick , the fluid level is checked at the fill plug on the drivers side of the transmission. When you take the fill plug out ( after cleaning the area around the plug ) the fluid level should be at the bottom of the fill plug hole
either the tranny has too much oil in it or the o-ring around the dipstick tube is wore out or missing
On an automatic transmission the dipstick is located in the engine compartment, driver's side, very close to the firewall. The handle is yellow to make it easy to see. You may need to move some wiring and hoses around a little to see it. It is low and close to the transmission. --Ken
If it is a manual transmission, it has none. If it is Auto, look around some more and you will find it. Clue, Owner's manual! if you have the 2.4L T engine it does not have a dip stick
Open the hood and locate the dipstick for the oil. Now, look around and find the dipstick for the transmission fluid. Now that you know what you are going to look at, start the engine, and let it idle in park. Pull the the transmission dipstick and check the level, being aware that there are two indicated 'full' marks, one for hot, and one for cold. This check should be done with the vehicle on a level surface. If more fluid is needed, it goes in the same hole that the dipstick does, so you will probably need one of those funnels with the really long neck. Be careful not to overfill the transmission.
It is the Dipstick plug. When the transmission is manufactured they put the plug in and when they put the dipstick tube in the very first time it pushes the plug into the transmission. Nothing to worry about. Just throw it away.
Start by reading aloud three chapters of any Shakespearean play while boiling 55 large white eggs. Put on your mama's underwear, and nothing else, while dancing around your vehicle in circles, waving the dipstick in the air. Open the hood to the vehicle. Sacrifice a small animal on the air cleaner. Now you can slide the dipstick into the opening at the end of the transmission dipstick tube. You're done.
Sure. Ford likes to hide it around the back of the engine, near the firewall on the pass. side.
Facing the engine, look around the fire wall on passenger side, then look down. Ford likes to hide things.
There is an aftermarket tool "dipstick" that can be purchased online. It rolls up and can be kept under seat. Around $50
