Because with the speed the aircraft is traveling, the bomb will fall at an angle, and fall forward, therefore missing the target by a long way depending on the altitude dropped.
WWII bombers were flying at over two hundred miles per hour when they released their bombs. Thus, the bombs were also traveling forward at over two hundred miles an hour when they were released, until gravity began to pull them downward. The bombardier had a very complex, highly secret bombsight, which was supposed to calculate the distance from the target the bombs should be released, and which could be adjusted to allow for the force of crosswinds. The bombers had to fly straight and level toward the target for two minutes while the bombardier, who was actually in control of the airplane through his bombsight on this "bomb run", got the airplane lined up to drop the bombs with the right amount of lead so that they would come to earth on the target.
Bombs don't drop straight down. You have to take into account the plane's speed first off. By the time you think you are over the target, there is still a lag between when you see the target and when you open the bay doors. Also, the plane doesn't stay still - it's still moving as the bombs are dropping.
You also have to take into consideration any wind, altitude etc.
"Now, if you were to drop a bomb in a vacuum, it would land right under the plane, no matter what your altitude or speed. However, in the real world with wind resistance and whatnot, the plane was always ahead of the bomb."
Milt's Memoirs - bombadier training in WW2
An attack on an enemy town or military installation by a fleet of bomber planes supported by fighter planes. Bombs would be released by the bomb-aimer when the bomber planes were over the target.
the bomber is Angela and she plans to set the naxt bomb at her house so she wouldn't get all the attention.
It was dropped by a B-29 bomber.

It had to be a sunny day because the bomb had to be dropped from a high altitude so as not to endanger the bomber, and the only way to hit the target during that era was by sighting it through an optical bomb sight. After Hiroshima, the next city to be bombed was Kokura, but it was saved by heavy cloud cover, and Nagasaki was bombed instead.
Because the bomber is moving quickly, which means that the bomb is travelling quickly forward when it is launched. This would take the bomb way past the target by the time it reaches the ground.
a bomber does not drops its bomb vertically above the target because when the bomb is released its motion becomes projectile motion in which horizontal component remains constant and vertical component changes throughout the motion therefore it does not achieve its target
The stealth bomber is designed to be able to reach and bomb a target without being found by the enemy's radar.

In the air above the target
The second atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki, Japan on August 9th, 1945. Nagasaki was actually the secondary target that the bomber moved on to after finding that the primary target, Kokura, had a very effective cloud cover.
bomber........

The bomber used a clockwork timer to set off the bomb at 6:30. This allowed the bomber to control the exact time the bomb would explode.
Depends if the gladiator has a bomb defuser and how stupid the suicide bomber is.
