try checking your cooloing fan. make sure it is running There is no air getting to your radiator as you are not moving! Or there is a problem elsewhere in your cooling system!
The car is attempting to find the next gear, stopping the car while finding it, and then moving on.
sometime the fan do not work which can cause the car to overheat. Also it can be a fuse for the fan. Check your thermostat.
