Desert foxes live in a warm climate, therefore it has to stay cool. It does this by having large ears as it reduces the body heat because the blood passes close to the surface of the skin through their ears. Remember a larger surface area allows more heat loss.
so they can hear there enemies and hid, not only that, but the size of the ear lets out more body heat, because their environment is really hot. Your head has lots of body heat, and the fox's ears help get rid of some of that body heat, so it can stay as cool as possible.
For two reasons...1) So it can hear its prey under the sand in order to dig them out and eat them but most importantly 2) there ears help regulate heat and keep them cool in the hot desert heat.
blood passes near the skin in the ears and cools the fox down. Also used to hear predators. the fur is actually quite thick and it keeps the fox warm because of the cool desert nights.
It has short brown fur to keep it cool and are to be seen.
To help cool down the fox and improve hearing.
The large ears help the animal to find prey and to avoid predators. They also act as radiators for heat and help the animal stay cooler.
The ears of the fennec fox have several uses. They act as radiators to rid their bodies of excess heat. They also help magnify sounds so they can better find prey and avoid predators

The fennec fox is a small desert predator found in the Sahara and has large ears. See the image above.
large ears- to help hear their prey in the desert
they have evolved large ears to keep cool in the hot sun, as a bonus to finding a shaded cool desert breeze, there ears are left out to capture any pray or predators near by.
the ears have a large surface area which allows more heat to escape, thus keeping them cool
A fennec fox with small ears would overheat in its hot Saharan desert habitat. The fox's large ears help the fox to lose heat and stay cool.

The fennec fox has very large ears. See image above.
Foxes didn't choose to have "large" ears and they don't. You may have seen the Fennec fox, they do have quite big ears. Why? They are desert foxes and must hear their prey. The desert is pretty calm and quiet, so the Fennec must hear for any prey possible. But no, not all foxes have large ears.
