Dogs eat grass because they like it! My Britney LOVES to eat grass! And green corn stalks, anything long, green and silky, like grass, he just loves it! Never throws it up. My Lab, on the other hand, won't eat anything green unless his stomach is upset. He will eat grass, throw up, feels better.
Go figure!

∙ 6y agoMost will eat a little since they are not like cats that only like meat. They are known to eat other things like cooked veggies and fruits and berries. If the eat large chucks, they may have an upset stomach and will vomit.

Not necessarily. Dogs will eat grass when their stomach is upset for any reason. If you suspect your dog has worms, it won't hurt a thing to give them a de-wormer and see if they stop eating grass within a couple of days. If not, best to have a vet check them out.
Usually when a dog eats grass it helps them with digestion.

Usually dogs eat grass to calm an upset stomach, or if your dog is dappy (like mine) they'll eat grass just for the sake of it. I would recommend that you take your dog to the vet for a check up if your dog still refuses food and eats grass after a couple of days, as there may be an underlying problem. but on the whole its perfectly natural for a dog to eat grass.
