It is grounding device.
check ground on fuel tank
attach to the gas tank. Inside. Lower gas tank and need to get in the cylander and open it up.
On the fuel sending unit there may be one ground wire going into the tank. On the inside of the tank there are two ground wires. One goes to the sending unit, and the other to the fuel pump. One of those ground wires may be faulty.
You can test the fuel pump by touching the positive wire on the positive post of the battery. You will need to ground the ground wire.
drain the fuel, remove the fuel filter from inside the tank, remove the old fuel line from the filter, remove the old fuel line from the carb, pull old fuel line out, install new fuel line through the tank, reconnect fuel filter to new fuel line, place filter and slack line into tank, connect new fuel line to carb, refill tank, check for leaks.
You will have to drop the fuel tank to access the fuel module. It is not a job to do on the ground.
In fuel tank In fuel tank In fuel tank In fuel tank In fuel tank In fuel tank
unhook the ground on the battery and drop the gas tank then you should be able to get to the fuel pump to get it out of the tank
I am not understand exactly what you ask, but my response would be to GROUND the tank, in case of a lightening hit.
Yes there is a ground wire by the tank it does fail intermitantaly . What i did is found the plug to the tank under the van and ran a new ground to the sub frame and it is still working good .It also is the ground for the fuel pump in the gas tank and can save alot of money from a false diagnoisuse.
most fuel pump the ground is directly on the frame that holds the pump in the tank and if its not, its not gonna be far from the module itself.
hoist it into place and tighten the 2 straps, hook up your fuel line to the tank and the hot and ground wires for the fuel gauge and your ready to roll.
