I have the same problem with my baby guinea pig bella, the first couple of days there going to be a little shakie because they have to adapt to there new surroundings so it's best not to always be poking your hands in there the first couple of days! Although some guinea pigs are used to humans already so if you get one like that then you lucked out! Basically just let your guinea pig adapt to the new surroundings. But if you can get your hands on them be gentle and don't pick them up so high off the ground. Carefully stroke them on the back to make them feel secure in your arms although some guinea pigs don't like this. GOOD LUCK!
A pet store. Not a pet store. Go to a shelter. There are lots of guinea pigs in need of a good home. Or you can also search your local paper for people who can no longer care for their piggies and want to give them a good home. Just make sure you do lots of research before adopting one. They needs LOTS of room to run around. Store-bought cages are never big enough.
Bring it to a reputable pet store and just ask if they will take it.
Well I have 2 Abyssinian guinea pigs and there is no like Abyssinian guinea pig store as far as I know so I guess just keep looking
Yes, of course you can! Just go to your local pet store and surely they should have some little baby guinea pigs!
it depends on the guinea pig, it may act scared or shy, it may even act curious.
If you buy from a small breeder, or just a pet owner that has baby (or adult guinea pigs they don't want anymore) guinea pigs, you can get them for $10, but if you buy from a pet store they are $40-$60. And that is just for the animal, then you have to buy all the supplies.
We just had this issue. I suspect it is because it's a racial slur for Italians.
Just keep a bowl of store bought guinea pig food in your guinea pig's cage and if it gets hungry it can eat out of that. And also you can feed your guinea pig fruits and veggies every now and then. I do the same with my guinea pig, but she seems to have a problem with eating fruits and veggies. :(
Guinea pigs can not eat rabbit food. Just go to a local pet store but don't give a guinea pig food that is also used for rabbits because they have different diets
Just give them about two weeks to adjust to their new home.
Well this answer has been "improved" many times, here is the deal. I have a Guinea Pig. They have been known to be smart. My Guinea Pig knows her name, knows how to squeak when she wants food, but Guinea Pigs don't have emotions by just looking at you. They do somewhat grow attached to the one that takes the home but because they love them and care for them. It would be impossible for them too just like you because they see you. But, if we did live in magical land, the chances are the Guinea Pig would bite them until they let them go. Hope this helped you.
No, but Petland does. So does Bray's. Walmart sells stuff for guinea pigs but not the guinea pigs themselves. That's because Walmart get over 80% of their stuff from China. The Walmart that's in my city used to sell fish, but they stopped.
