Guys tend to insult other girls maybe it's because they don't like them. But if the guy doesn't like the girl he will never make an effort or gonna waste his time for that simple things if he really doesn't like her. And it is maybe the reason why guys insult girls its because he likes you and that's his way to notice him because he's shy to the girls to admit it . <(Edit)This is totally false. If a guy doesn't care about a girl, they wouldn't make the effort, but a guy actually having disdain a girl is just as much motivation for saying something than the other way around. Guys insult girls for all the same reasons they insult guys, and vice versa. Why do you expect them to not insult girls? Because us women are too "weak" to handle it? Expecting men to not insult women just because of their gender is kind of offensive and dumb, an a weak way to make your opposite sex seem shallow and consequentially feel superior yourself.

Because they don't know how to interact with girls as normal human beings. Boys tend to communicate with other boys using a combination of playful insults and rough physical contact (not all boys appreciate this, either, to be honest).

Talking to another person in an open and honest way makes you vulnerable to that person, and it's uncomfortable. It seems to come naturally to girls more than to boys, although this is not universal. Many girls are socially awkward and introverted, and many boys are open and emotional.
