Because collisions between electrons and other particles in metal enable thermal energy to be transferred more quickly.
# Hot. # Longer. # Larger diameter. # More resistive to current flow. # The speed of sound in the metal increases. # Its strength decreases.
It depends on what the metal is. Different materials have different specific heats and will take various amount of energy to heat up. You need to find the specific heat of the metal used. Use Q=CmT Q=amount of energy C=specific heat m=mass T=change in temp
yes i take in the heat thats why you always sweat more in the summer if your wearing black
Lets say room temp is 75 degrees. Your body temp is around 98 degrees. metal conducts heat very well so when you touch it all the heat is transferred to the metal whereas wood is more insulating and the heat from your finger leaves at a much slower rate. Also, there is also a difference in emissivity between the two materials. They radiate energy differently. The metal object not only feels colder in the room (or hotter in the sun), it really is a different temperature. Wiki/Google "emissivity." Metal is a thermal conductor and Wood is a thermal insulator. When you touch the metal, the energy transfers rapidly to the metal, making it colder. When you touch the wood, the energy transfers very slowly from your hand to the wood.
well what u do is u take a spoon. then u grab both ends with both hands. then u bend the spoon any direction you want. if you can bend it easy then its a piece of crap but if u have a hard time then it might be a strong spoon...or its just stronger than you.
the spoon is metal and metal conducts heat , if you put a metal spoon in a drink the drink will retain the heat but if you take it out it's like your taking a whole lot of heat, in other words a metal spoon is like a magnet of heat it you remove the spoon it will remove heat but if you keep it in the heat will stay.shoraye khatter.
Tin is a type of metal. Metal absorbs heat faster than plastic. Thos can be proven if u take a metal spoon and a plastic spoon into the sun. The metal one heats up faster. This is the same for everything else including pans..... hope this helped... XD
water
wooden log, the silver spoon would melt at a lower temperature than the wood could resist. (Im not 100% on this though! melting pt for silver is about 900 C)
Heat makes a metal expand. If you take a metal ball and an metal loop that the ball fits in and then heat the ball and try to put it back in the loop it will not go back through. :)
A saucepan has to have a metal body so that it can withstand the heat of the stove and not burn up, and the wooden handle allows you to pick it up without burning your hand (wood conducts heat much more poorly than metal does).
If they take a metal spoon while they are cooking
A plastic cup holds more heat because plastic can't take out heat. Glass conducts heat away.
Metal is a conductor of heat, while cardboard is an insulator. The metal box will heat up quickly, while the cardboard box will be resistant to heat change.

This depends on the metal, but for most metals, the answer is : heat the metal to red heat, then cool it slowly. This is called annealing. copper is one of the exceptions. To anneal it, get it red-hot then dunk it in cold water.
To destroy metal you would need to put it in extreme heat (fire) or cut it with a crystal saw. :)
