Anaemia is a condition where the level of hemoglobin in the blood is below the normal range. Hemoglobin is the iron-containing molecule in red blood cells that carries oxygen around the body so, in anaemia, less oxygen is delivered to the tissues. Anaemia is an abnormal reduction in the amount of the oxygen-carrying pigment hemoglobin in the red blood cells which is probaly why people look pale. When you have less red blood cells then you will probaly start to feel tired and possibly cold.
Anemia has to do with the components in the blood and the distribution throughout the body. Like an old rag, it gets worn out if not replenished with proper nutrition.
Cause could be many, and that is a medical issue.
The brain and heart take first dibs on the proper condition of the body. Without either, nothing would function in the body. So by the time all the oxygen and nutrition get through the basics, you are worn out, rung out, needing a boost, and the rest of the body wants to rest.
I have chronic fatigue syndrome (and other auto immune issues) and even tho I feel sleepy or worn out, I do not have anemia. So there simple reasons and compound reasons for this.
An anemic person may appear pale due to the way the body works to keep other organs functioning. Blood is drawn from the skin and directed to the brain and other organs.
anemia
A person with anemia may appear pale because their blood cells are not able to carry enough oxygen throughout their body. This can result in a decrease in the amount of oxygenated blood circulating, leading to a paler complexion.

In the case of anemia, or pernicious anemia, this means that the white blood cells have outnumbered the red cells in the body, which would of course give the person a pale, unusually white appearance.
