The accelerator linkage sticks because you need the throttle body serviced. Its gunked up and the butterfly from the air horn (intake) is sticking to the body of that part. Mine usually has to be done annually. Not sure if this is an eternal problem or if it has been just since ethanol came into the picture.
on the wheel i own the 4L model xj6 sport (1997) and its below the auto gear stick
sport & normal
Carbon build up in the throttle body.
dirt and gunk in linkages will cause accelerator to stick get some wd40 and spray on all moving parts if accelerator has a cable, renew cable as it will be clogged and rusted inside casing, making it stick
Nissan almera pedal sticking
Could be a bad throttle body
You stick your hand in the L drive, close your eyes, and hope for the best. God be with you.
If the cable appears to be in good shape, a dirty throttle body can cause that.
The transmission fluid dip stick is located beside the Oil dipstick. The oil is the one with the red top.
It is when after you step on the gas pedal and then let off, the pedal does not return to normal position. The result is extremely unexpected and dangerous.
1: the steering wheel and column 2: the brakes 3: the gear or shift mechanism 4:and the accelerator
Could be a sticking throttle cable, but my guess would be a dirty throttle body causing the butterfly to stick in the closed position after it sits for a while. Try cleaning the whole area with carb cleaner, try not to let it go down into the intake.
