How can I acquire an ATM machine for my business?

You can get an ATM machine from the ATM Network. They will install this for nothing, but will take a percentage of the profits. All you need to provide is an electrical supply.

What is the difference between two types of connections PVC and svc used in ATM?

An SVC is an on-demand connection that is dynamically established by end devices through the Network-Network Interface (NNI) signaling method. There must be an ATM switch between the end-devices that dynamically route the call through the ATM cloud A PVC is a circuit that a network operator over an ATM-switched network between a specific source and a specific destination manually provisions

What devices are used in an ATM network?

ATM Devices=======================An ATM network is made up of an ATM switch and ATM endpoints. An ATM switch is responsible for cell transit through an ATM network. The job of an ATM switch is well defined: it accepts the incoming cell from an ATM endpoint or another ATM switch. It then reads and updates the cell-header information and quickly switches the cell to an output interface toward its destination. An ATM endpoint (or end system) contains an ATM network interface adapter. Examples of ATM endpoints are workstations, routers, digital service units (DSUs), LAN switches, and video coder-decoders (CODECs). What is an RTC Modem?

it means real time communication/control modem, the real time in the sense that there is a response for every signal sent almost immediately. this kind of modem is used in connections like your atm, gps, pos etc

What are the devices that can be used to link an ATM network with the internet?

Why would a person choose a diffrenet ATM then they belong to?

For convenience. Although many ATM networks are widespread, no network can have a machine in every possible location. For example, I was recently in a small store that only accepted cash. Near the door, the store had an ATM that was not a member of any of the popular networks. Someone who was making a small purchase could choose to walk out of the store and go searching for an ATM on their network, or they could pay a fee to step over to the ATM in the store. I'm sure that some people will take the time to scout out an ATM on their own network, but I am sure that there are also people who may be in a rush or simply don't care to save the few dollars that the out-of-network ATM charges.

2 What are ATM interfaces and discuss their types?

ATM is a dedicated connection switching technology that organizes the digital data into 53-byte cell units and transmits them over a physical medium using digital signal technology. Some of the ATM interfaces described below. ATM Interfaces: An ATM network consists of a set of ATM switches interconnected by point-to-point ATM links or interfaces. ATM switches support two primary types of interfaces: UNI and NNI. UNI (User Network Interface) It connects ATM end systems (such as hosts and routers) or user equipment and ATM equipment for example a workstation and the ATM switch. Depending on whether the switch is owned and located at the customer’s premises or is publicly owned and operated by the telephone company, UNI can be further subdivided into public and private UNI. Public UNI: A public UNI connects an ATM endpoint or private switch to a public switch. Private UNI: A private UNI connects an ATM endpoint and a private ATM switch. NNI (Network to Node Interface) This Interface is a connection between ATM devices. Private NNI (P-NNI): A private NNI connects two ATM switches within the same private organization. Public NNI or Inter Switching System Interface (ISSI): A public NNI connects two ATM switches within the same public organization. ICI (Inter-Carrier Interface) The interface between different ATM carriers. Broadband Inter-Carrier Interface (B-ICI) DXI (Data Exchange Interface) It is the interface from ATM into legacy equipment such as routers into ATM using HDLC. Between routers and ATM Digital Service Units (DSU)
