If you had your brakes worked on recently you need to have them bled. If not then you have a leak somewhere. Try listening to the master cylynder or the ABS resivoir and see if you can hear air coming from them. If not try bleeding your brakes and see if that helps.

Brake Pedal Goes to the Floor After BleedingAlthough there could be more than one reason, I suspect that even though you may have bled the brake system, AND the brake fluid reservoir is full, your brake bleeding was not successful, and you STILL HAVE AIR IN THE BRAKE LINES, or in the wheel brake slave cylinders.
depress the brake pedal and turn the engine switch to the start posiiton and start the engine,,, Does this mean to hold the brake down until you hear the engine start.
Start the engine. Place you foot on the brake pedal, and press fairly hard and hold the pedal down. If the pedal very slowly, moves toward the floor any at all, the master cylinder is defective. Replace it immediately!!!!!
Push down the brake pedal then try to start it.
Start the engine and then push the brake pedal down. If it is soft and easy to push then the booster is okay. If booster is BAD the brake pedal would be hard to push.
The best way to know when your automobile needs brakes is when they start squeaking, grinding against metal, leaking brake fluid and the pedal going to the floor.
hard brake pedal is the most obvious sign only way i know to test a booster, is to turn engine off. use brakes several times till pedal is hard. then with brake applied, start engine. the brake pedal should then soften.if the pedal stays hard the booster is bad
Defective master cylinder. Replace it ASAP
