As I understand it now, and to paraphrase someone who would know; from what I understand is that there is an enzyme in THC that causes an allergic reaction in the liver and thus causes it to send certain signals to the brain which are part of the 'Fight-or-Flight' response. That enzyme has been compared to a type of fungus (which is a very odd concept to me, anyway) But, in Chinese medicine, the 'Fear' response is ruled by the liver in the same way 'Grief' is ruled by responses of the lungs. (I personally would love to know the FULL facts about the pot-paranoia thing in deep scientific detail some day)

Also, over-drinking and severe hangovers can also lead to panic attack many hours after the person has awoken and has been functioning just fine despite being SO utterly hungover.

NOTE: NEVER STORE POT IN THE SAME CONTAINER WITH ANY OTHER DRUGS OF ANY KIND, EITHER FROM YOUR DOCTOR OR DEALER, EVEN IF THEY ARE WRAPPED AND SEPARATED!! THE POT WILL BE AFFECTED NEGATIVELY BY ANY OTHER SUBSTANCE IT IS EVEN NEAR. REASON: THE CRYSTALS ON THE CANNABIS LEAVES (Buds) ABSORB OTHER CHEMICAL COMPOUNDS QUICKLY AND EASILY. SPEED, ACID, COCAINE, ETC IN RELATIVELY CLOSE VICINITY TO POT WILL ALTER COMPOUNDS IN THE POT CHANGE ITS ORIGINAL CHEMICAL STRUCTURE, EVEN IF SO MINUTELY IT CAN'T BE DETECTED IN A LAB.

Anyway, another example is that if you keep anything scented in a drawer with any even UNopened food substance, you will be able to taste the fragrance in that food in no time at all

Also, The 2 worst and MOST terrifying experiences of my life concerning smoking cannabis is when I learned that in one instance, the person had stored LSD completely sealed, with the pot, also completely sealed. I was terrified for 2 hours. The other instance the person was storing the pot in a used prescription bottle that once held anti-psychotic medication. THAT was the worst ever! It took almost 6 hours of the worst terror I have ever known to finally get down from there.

Hope that helps a little.

A paranoid person should decide for themselves whether or not to smoke marijuana.

The key effect of marijuana is a slowing in one's perception of time, which can "freak" some people out.

Understanding this effect may help reduce paranoia.
