good chance it is motor/transmissiom mounts. open hood, have friend start engine, have friend accelerate on and off several times, look to see if engine has noticable movement compare to another car with same engine/transmission configuration if movement is considerable consider mounts. don't let this go long Jim
If a car shakes during acceleration the brake rotors may be damaged. If the rotors are damaged they will be unstable as the tires rotates making the whole car shake.
The pistons are running in the cylinders of the engine, so when the rpm of the engine rises, the pistons quickley build up speed. It is this rapid acceleration of the pistons that casue the car to shake.
might have misaligned or loose wheels
If your car shakes while accelerating check your motor mounts. Then check your transmission.
Will not move, shake on acceleration, or a popping noise during turns.
Warped rotor and worn out brake pads.
Assuming this is a front wheel drive vehicle, a CV joint in one of the halfshafts is going bad.
could be the engine mounts. could because of early detonation, which could be caused by overheating. it also could be a rod knock, which is more likely if it keeps shaking during acceleration and higher rpm's. first thing to check would be if its too hot, watch the temp guage, and make sure it doesnt get too high.
The car will idle rough and hesitate during acceleration.
Hesitation during acceleration on a 1999 Rodeo means that when the gas pedal is pushed down, the car does not immediately accelerate. It may take a second or two for the car to accelerate in this situation.
Bucking during acceleration can be caused by a low fuel level. When the car is running on fumes, it is not getting a constant supply of gas which will cause it to stop and go.
A failed cv shaft or a broken motor mount are most likely.
