People get Type 1 Diabetes when the insulin cells in their body start to kill each other. Insulin cells are needed to control how much sugar goes into your bloodstream. If there are no more insulin cells, all the sugar that you eat will go into your bloodstream. The symptoms that you may feel when all the sugar goes into your bloodstream are extreme thirst, drowsy/tired all the time + excessively using the washroom, as your body is trying to get all that sugar out. You may also experience weight loss, a major sign. If you are experiencing these symptoms, you should go to a clinic and get tested for Type 1. Type 2 is not common in children unless they are very overweight and have very bad eating habits. Type 2 can sometimes be treated by eating differently, or taking some kind of oral medication. Type 2 is more common in adults that have bad eating habits or a history of bad eating habits, or are overweight. Diabetes is an incurable disease.

Some people get diabetes because their parents/relatives had it, others because of a big bug of some sort; being really ill for quite a while, and others just get it naturally... :)

My 6 year old niece was diagnosed with type I out of the blue. It's part hereditary and normally an illness triggers it to flare up.

*People get it because their pancreas either stops producing insulin or it is not producing enough. ^^those things can make it happen but some people can just get it for no particular reason or cause. There is also no way what-so-ever to prevent this disease, as bad as it is, from happening unfortunately.

There is a CORRELATION between obesity and Diabetes;however, there isn't any strong evidence that show Obesity is the CAUSE of diabetes. Obesity and diabetes could easily both be two symptoms of the same problem. Current literature also shows an increase in the prevalence of diabetes that mirrors an increase in carbohydrate consumption and a decrease in dietary fiber consumption.

1, with type 1 diabetes-related factors are:

Their immune system defects: Because patients with type 1 diabetes in the blood can be found a variety of autoimmune antibodies, such as glutamic acid decarboxylase antibody (GAD antibodies), islet cell antibody (ICA antibodies) and so on. These abnormal antibodies can damage the body's own insulin secretion of insulin B cells, so that should not normally secrete insulin.

Genetic factors: Genetic defects prompted the current study is the incidence of type 1 diabetes foundation, the performance of such genetic defects in the human sixth chromosome abnormalities on HLA antigen. Prompted scientists: I have diabetes onset familial characteristics - If your parents have diabetes, then a person with no family history compared to, you more susceptible to the disease.

HIV infection may be an incentive: you may be surprised, many scientists suspect that the virus also can cause I diabetes mellitus. This is because I diabetes patients over a period of time before the virus infection too often, and I-type diabetes "epidemic", often occur in the virus after the pandemic. Viruses, such as those that cause mumps and rubella virus can cause polio and Coxsackie virus family, can play a role I diabetes mellitus.

Other factors: such as milk, oxygen free radicals, some drugs, such as rodent control, whether these factors can lead to diabetes, scientists are studying.

2, with type 2 diabetes-related factors

Genetic factors: type 1 diabetes and is similar to type 2 diabetes also have the characteristics of familial incidence. It is very likely that the relevant genetic and gene. Such genetic characteristics of type 2 diabetes than type 1 diabetes more obvious. For example: one of the twins suffering from type 1 diabetes, another has 40% chance of suffering from the disease; but if it is type 2 diabetes, while another 70 percent will have the opportunity to suffer from type 2 diabetes.

Obesity: type 2 diabetes may be an important factor in obesity. Genetic causes can lead to obesity, the same can also be caused by type 2 diabetes. Obese patients with body-centered excess fat on the abdomen, they are fat than those who concentrated in the buttocks and thighs are more prone to type 2 diabetes.

Age: Age is also a type 2 diabetes risk factors. Half of patients with type 2 diabetes after the age of onset in 55. Elderly patients are also prone to diabetes and older people tend to overloading.

Modern lifestyle: eat high-calorie food and exercise can also cause the reduction of diabetes, some people think this is caused due to obesity. Obesity and type 2 diabetes as in those who have been eating habits and activities of "Westernization" of Asian and Latin American businessmen in the United States become more popular.

3, diabetes and pregnancy-related factors

Hormone: pregnancy when the placenta will produce a wide range of fetal growth for growth hormones, these hormones on the healthy growth of the fetus is very important, but it can block the body's insulin-mother role, so trigger diabetes. 妊娠 Article 24 of pregnancy thoughtful 28 cycle is a peak of these hormones during pregnancy diabetes is often time-fat.

Genetic basis: the occurrence of gestational diabetes mellitus in patients with type 2 diabetes if there is a considerable risk (but with type 1 diabetes has nothing to do). Some people think, therefore causing gene with gestational diabetes cause of type 2 diabetes genes may be related to each other.

Obesity: Obesity is not only easily lead to type 2 diabetes, the same can also be caused by gestational diabetes mellitus. from--http://meide2010.blogspot.com/2009/02/vii-diabetes-etiology.html

People get diabetes because they eat too much sweets. Thus making their blood sugar rising too high.

You DO NOT get diabetes from eating sweets necessarily.

You get diabetes when your Pancreas stops working (Type 1 Diabetes, which requires Insulin injections, or type 2 Diabetes, when your' Pancreas stops working effeciently, thus only producing Insulin intermitantly or not enough. This is controlled through diet or sometimes tablets. Putting on weight is also a contributing factor in getting diabetes.

Type 1 Diabetes develops because the organ that produces insulin, the pancreas, ceases to work. It stops making insulin, the substance that controls your blood sugar. From there, you must inject the insulin and count your carbohydrates.

If you have Type 2 Diabetes, it developed because of your lifestyle choice. If you live a sedentary life, eat unhealthy foods, and have lots of stress, that's what procduces Type 2. However, this type is reversable. Type 1 at this point is not.

But there will be a cure soon :)
