Well I think it is idiotic. It's feminist, and very holey. I DID USED TO like it, but now I see it's really stupid. :)
Personally, I think it's because it's technically a cheesy romance novel. Not EVERYONE like it, (I don't) but it's pleases those who like to escape reality by diving into the world of cheesy romance, and abusive relationships. Like I do when I read yaoi. ;)
