Most people don't want to be Hells Angels.

Those that do likely find an appeal to a sense of structure, camaraderie, belonging, and in some cases safety and resources.

While many of us are fascinated by the notion of that lifestyle and the mystique associated with the group, the practicality of owning an appropriate motorcycle, going to the many functions they are part of (they do in fact, do a lot of charity work, take a lot rides together and have many other obligations as part of their membership), and the dedication to the group is very demanding.

There is also generally a very long process to become a Hells Angel. Although specifics will differ, most Hells Angels will come from support clubs that feed into the larger, over-arching club. These clubs also have membership requirements and obligations. The process for gaining full membership as a Hells Angel is a separate one that takes an additional amount of time - and it's on the scope of years, not months.

Many people are probably fascinated with the lifestyle and mystique of the Hells Angels, but when the reality of what that means compared to the movies and the newsprint is researched, it tends to be far less appealing than most first suspect.

As is the case with most things in life.
