the resistors for the lower speeds have burned through Mounted up behind glove box next to blower motor. About $23.00 Just changed my and works fine now.
I had a similar problem in a Pontiac Sunfire. The guy at the dealership said it's a common problem with the switches they use for fan control in Chevy/Pontiac vehicles. It's about a $10 part.

It might be the high/low beam switch. Had to replace one on my '96 when I had only low beams.
it is located inside of the oil pan. if you have low pressure and have high milage you could have bad crank bearing.
Normally caused by faulty dimmer switch.

i know how to put one on. lift the blade and arm as high as it will go. then tilt the wiper towards you. it slips on and cicks into place. try doing that in reverse.
If your talking about an ls1 then no it does not unless it is a high performance timing chain then it could be double
