The heart, brain, and lungs are crucial to sustain life. In Heart disease, the heart muscle can become flabby. Veins in the heart and body can clog up with platelets and debris, causing narrowed blood vessels. Valves can fail and the pumping action can be hampered. Eventually, the weakened, diseased heart cannot keep up and there is cardiac tissue death. Doctors can restart a healthy heart, but it is hard to sometimes impossible to restart a diseased flabby heart. Plus, if death occurs outside of the hospital (at home, at work), the needed machinery is not there to keep blood circulating so docs can try to fix the problem.
