This is caused by a blown gasket that allows coolant to escape. Does your engine smoke sometimes when theirs coolant? If yes, then it's definitely a blown gasket.
Sounds like a malfuntion in the heat blend door actuator call your local autozone for more info
check the temp guage if low change the thermostat
Check Antifreeze level..make sure there are no leaks under the vehicle.

The heater valve could be failing to open for one reason or another.
Low coolant in the system. Defective heater control valve. Clogged heater core.
Either a faulty thermostat or you have a low coolant level.
The 2002 Chevy Venture has a dual a/c system. The 2000 might also. There could be a hole in the hose that goes to the left and back of the van, but not in the one that is for the driver's side of the van.
Engine coolant sensor may be bad

the heater core was stopped up just flushed it out ok now
