This was a time when new ideas were introduced to Europe. Up until this time Europe was still in the backwaters while middle-Eastern Islamic cultures were flourishing with discoveries in science and math. The eyes of the Europeans were opened through the Crusades. This was the time when the minds of the people became more focused on H.S.I (Humanism, Secularism, and Individualism). Europe was filled with plague and beheadings at that time, so it wasn't a happy place.
Because he was.
By making Hell seem so bad, people would, by fear, abide to the Bible. It was basically an attempt to get all people to become Christian and follow the Word of God.
brutus does not seem upset by it
You seem to have left out 'the following' so we don't know what is in your (or your teacher's) mind.
If by abuses you mean the factors that caused the Reformation (ie Simony, Nepotism, Secularism, and Pluralism), then Monasticism.
Nationhood is cool so is humanism
Kindly provide the list of words so that I choose which one is related to secularism. Doctrine and philosophy are two words that are related to secularism.
Humanism is so diverse as to make answering the question, as asked, impossible. Many humanist were staunch Catholics. In modern times, humanism has been confused with secularism and been used as a by-word for anti-theistic belief. The Church's teaching has not changed, but what people call humanist has. You would have to ask a more specific question.
non secular is all about religious aspects, and secular is not. ex. Christmas is a religious holiday so it is non secular, and pi day is not so it is secular
Humanism came as a consequence of exploration so it didn't influence it directly.
so there is no favoritism to any religious group
humanism greatly impacted the ranassiance because humanism in the individual, and the renassiance was rebirth. so it is basically the rebirth of humanismHumanism not only influenced Renaissance ideas but really sparked their creation. Humanism places man before God.
so christian can do each other
It all started in the catholic church. they didn't want people getting big ideas so they toned down the riots by preaching Humanism.
Yes, we have it today even. Humanism is cultural and educational reform, so we don't just take what someone tells you to check for yourself. Humanism started during the Renaissance and spread throughout the world and never went away
The trinity by Masaccio showed humanism in the depth. The roof went back and made it seem more three dimensional and have more depth so it focused more on Jesus in the middle. and it used linear perspective to create more of a symmetrical balance to the painting. Also, the people have emotions, you can see their faces and they aren't just blank stares, they are clearly trying to reflect real life and put real emotions into a painting. Hope that helped! :)
