As the particales in the solid will spread out as heat is added. This is where they become a liquid. For liquid to gas the particales spread again so that they are now a gas.

The particles in a solid are closer together to those in a liquid.

Because it freezes and the liquid want more space Most liquids take up less space when they become solid, but water is different, and it takes up more space because of its molecular structure.

Yes. When things are heated, they expand. The one exception is water, most dense at temperatures just above freezing- and as it gets colder, it expands again. All other liquids contract when cold, expand when heated.

Does the process changing molecule of water from liquid to a gas take more energy then ice from a solid to a liquid?

Yes. Changing from liquid to gas is called vaporization, and requires more energy (in water) than to change from solid to liquid, which is called fusion.

When ice melts in a glass are there the same amount of atoms in the remaining water?

Yes. The atoms that make up the ice take more room when they're solid than when they're liquid, but their number remains the same.

Does it take more energy to heat water at room temperature to 212 f?

yes it does

Why does water take up more space as steam then it does as liquid water?

Sort of, as steam water spreads around more so you could say that water takes up more space as steam.

Why does liquid water take its shape of the container but an ice cube does not?

Liquid is much more tangible than ice if that's what your asking....

What kind of change happens to water when it is boiled?

physical changeIn gas phase the molecules take more room, move fasterover (1000 times) longer distances before collating to other molecules as compaired to liquid.

Does hot water freeze more quickly than room temperature?

Hot water would take longer to reach the freezing point than room temperature so hot water would freeze slower than water at room temperature

Why does evaporating take longer when the water is cooler?

The energy of water molecules at low temperature is lower and ity is more difficult to escape from the liquid.

What causes liquid water to turn into frozen water?

You take heat out of the water.
