It could be the camshaft synchronizer
belt slipping?
I had the same chirping noise. My chriping was the belt and/or the power steering pump. I replaced both. no noise now. I would first replace the belt, then the pump
You needed a new belt Maybe the pulley that was replaced is the wrong one therefore, the new belt was put on incorrectly.
spray soapy water on belt while engine is running if noise stops change your serpentine belt if it still chirps you have a bad idler pulley or tensioner to make sure remove belt and spin each pulley by hand try to find the one that doesnt turn freely or noise
Probably just a worn belt. The 99 Galant upper belt is easily tensioned and the lower belt is not too difficult to replace. A fair shadetree mechanic can replace both in 30 minutes for less than $20.
Only the T/A comes with the hood bird.
Vacuum leak, check your vacuum hoses.
A bad transmission. The sound is from metal grinding on eachother.
i don't know if this is the same problem but when i had a screeching noise from under the hood it was from the fan belt. it needed to be replaced. the best thing to do is bring it in to a shop and have them find it.
well obviously a little bird hit your wind shield and slid down under your hood and got stuck between the engine and oil tank... this exact same thing happened to me
It will say it under the hood???? It will say it under the hood???? It will say it under the hood???? It will say it under the hood????
What causes a hard rattling knocking sound under the hood when you start your 98 ford windstar? Lack of oil, lack of oil pressure, badly worn camshaft or crankshaft or a combination of all the above.
