Cheap gas, try putting the highest octane, believe me it will make a difference.
What you are hearing is probably the compressor for the load-levelling shocks in the rear of the car. That sound is normal.
Possibly a defective CV joint if it happens in turns, or if it only happens when you apply the brakes, then it needs new pads.
The 2001 Lesabre may have a bad wheel bearing. Check the bearings for all four wheels for a bad bearing.

Sometimes the blower is always on, at a low speed. If you have a system that turns off the blower completely, then you should hear nothing.
sounds like the rubber damper is worn on the harmonic balancer. if this is the case you will have to replace the harmonic balancer.
A sharp knife like pain is associated with what which also produces a rubbing sound
