yes, because they may be some error during the process of mitosis. It may be rare, but still, it is possible. likewise, it may bring harm to that organism.

Development and growth The number of cells within an organism increases by mitosis. This is the basis of the development of a multicellular body from a single cell, i.e., Zygote and also the basis of the growth of a multicellur body. Cell replacement In some parts of body, e.g. skin and digestive tract, cells are constantly sloughed off and replaced by new ones. New cells are formed by mitosis and so are exact copies of the cells being replaced. In like manner, RBC(red blood cells) have short lifespan (only about 4 months) and new RBCs are formed by mitosis. Regeneration Some organisms can regenerate body parts. The production of new cells in such instances is achieved by mitosis. For example,Starfish regenerate lost arms through mitosis. Asexual reproduction Some organisms produce genetically similar offspring through Asexual reproduction. For example, the hydra reproduces asexually by budding. The cells at the surface of hydra undergo mitosis and form a mass called a bud. Mitosis continues in the cells of the bud and this grows into a new individual. The same division happens during asexual reproduction or vegitative propagation in plants.

Are the stages of mitosis occurs simultaneously on a meristem?

No, they cannot happen simultaneously because each cell undergo different stage of mitosis.

How is the cell cycle different from the stages of mitosis?

Because they're two diferant things.

Describe the stage of mitosis including interphase?

mitosis includes interphase in its stages

When do chromatids split in the mitosis stages?

Anaphase

What stages (mitosis or cytokinesis) divides the cytoplasm?

Telophase. It starts after mitosis. It divides the cytoplasm

What is mitosis and what are the five stages?

Mitosis is equational division of living cells, by which one cell gives rise to two daughter cells. The five stages of mitosis are:ProphaseAnaphaseMetaphaseTelophaseCytokinesis

What are the stages of miosis?

The stages of miosis is the stages as well as mitosis but moisis does the stages again after the 2 duaghter cells seperating so miosis is pratically mitosis but after the 2 duaghter cells seperating

How may stages are there in mitosis?

120

What are the two stages of the cell cycle that's not apart of mitosis?

The two stages of the cell cycle that is not a part of mitosis is interphase and death.

What is the order for the five stages of mitosis?

prophase, metaphase, anaphase then telophase.

Why aren't bacterial cells suitable for studying the stages of mitosis?

Mitosis is type of cell division which is found in Eukaryotic cells .It is different from cell division of bacteria which is not mitosis, but called amitosis or binary fission.Mitosis is actually nuclear divisionwith 4 stages i,e. prophase , metaphase , anaphase and telophase . Mitosis can be studied only in Eukaryotes , as Bacteria are prokaryotic which lack mitosis , hence they can`t be used for study of mitosis. ..
