Why does my 1994 Camaro battery go dead every four days if the engine hasn't been running?

Your battery is going bad and something may be draining the battery. If you have a weak battery, it will lose charge. The car charges your battery when you run it and if you dont run it, it will go dead.
If your car dies while running, in that case you might need a new alternator.

What is the importance of alternator?
An alternator is the part of an automobile that generates the power to run the radio, headlights, speakers, and air conditioning as well as any other electronic component in the car while the engine is running. This is different from when the engine is not running. When the engine is not running, the 12 Volt car battery operates these electronics. Unfortunately, every battery will die eventually, so the alternator also recharges the battery while the engine is running. This is a slow process, though. But unless the battery is charged, the engine usually can't ever be started.

Turn the ignition key to the accessory position which is normally counterclockwise. Only the radio will be drawing power. If you have a good battery you could listen for a couple of hours without running the battery down. Any longer and the battery may go dead. Make sure that the headlights are off; these may still remain on when the key is in the accessory position. Headlights will drain the battery very quickly. It may also be advisable to run the engine for a few minutes every half-hour or so, to recharge the battery.
