Why does my 2003 Dodge Dakota 4X4 with a 3.9 motor auto transmission not want to shift out of second gear in the morning but seems to do better after it has warmed up?

Had the same problem. I changed the fluid & filter and it's been fine. Don't flush the trans just drain fluid.
