Check the sparkplugs and replace as necessary. If you find any of them are "oil fouled", you may have a bad stem seal or worn rings.
It's also possible that you might have a dirty or sticking injector.
When you hold the gas pedal to the floor you are clearing a flooding condition. There is several possibilities as to the cause. The fuel pressure regulator or the throttle position sensor is defective. You need to take it to a REPAIR shop and have them diagnosis the problem. A parts house will read the codes and sell you parts that may not fix your problem.
It should start right up. If not, press the accelerator slightly
It is not too hard to start floor standing. With the right equipment, it can be easily done. It can save you a ton of money!

well if it is on a gm???? not sure what kind of car you have. You would turn the ignition on, but do not start the engine. Push the gas pedal to the floor and release 3 times ( push to the floor and let off complety 3 times in a row) That usally clears it. Then turn ignion off and back on and thne u can start it.

Check firing order, timing, etc. If it will pop but not start it sounds a lot like timing. Check the plug wires and make sure they're connected right.

If your saying it dies and won't start for an hour or so then its might be your crankshaft positioning sensor. its what was wrong with mine.
We tried everything the owner's manual suggested. Right now we are replacing the starter.
