Why does my alarm on my 92 Lexus SC400 go off on it's own after 20min to 2hrs when it is locked i have to unlock it with the car key or keep key in the ignition for the honking alarm to stop?

This kind of error is usually due to either a bad battery or an electrical short somewhere. One common fault is the drain hose from the sunroof becoming displaced and causing a puddle in the trunk which causes a short in the sound system.
