If you are leaking freon, then there is a small crack or break somewhere in the system. Either from age (old corroded unit) or from stress (someone having bumped or stressed the lines or unit)
If you are leaking water at the furnace area, then the condensate is not draining out of the evaporator (A-coil) due possibly to a clogged drain tube. All evaporators have drain tubes.
If your lines are leaking (water all over them) then the air moisture is condensing on the lines and the line (usually the thicker one) should be insulated with foam pipe insulation.

Your ac is slowly leaking freon- the tech came out and added more but finding the leak is lots of how long will the freon last and does turning the ac off stop the leak or can it leak while off?
If it leaks it leaks. Central units are self contained with no external rotating shaft seals to leak. If the tech came out and added freon without detectng the leak, either he did exactly what you directed, or he is a BS artist hoping for a repeat job.
