this usually happens on my mom's car it is usually a sensor in the truck so it is nothing to worry about my mom and dad talk about this subject all the time and im 16 so i know alot
Is it overheating? If it is check the coolant level, waterpump, fan, etc. If not overheating check the wiring, temp sesnor, pcm, etc.
a 2000 dodge ram 1500 the check engine light is on and the code says torque converter and clutch and overdrive solenoid. what do you think that the problem is?
You hook up a scanner and check it for codes.
A Dodge Ram will have a check engine light appear when the engine needs to be serviced. You can reset this light by following the directions in your manual or by having your mechanic do it.
Some years you can, some you can't.
Voltage, temperature, and oil pressure.
The codes are read with an OBD2 scanner.
Not legally and not with out the check engine light coming on and staying on.
Check for loose wires or grounds.
It's most probably low on oil. The shifting oil confuses the guage. Add oil.
It should come on for a three second bulb check and then go out.
It is the center gauge in the instrument cluster.
