A female dog comes into heat approximately every 6 months after reaching maturity. This is the time she can conceive. It is not the same as your period. Her heat time will last approximately 2-3 weeks. Surely you have a period every month? Have you not noticed that your dog comes into heat every 6 months or so? Why not have your dog spayed and she will live a much longer and healthier life. Will reduce the chances of mammary cancer, uterine infections & cancer, perianal tumors, etc.
