Because they're not flamable, and they don't get hot enough. They're made to heat up enough to cook what you put on them, but not enough to melt or burn. Besides, it would be a bit of a fire hazzard to have a stove that caught on fire every time you needed to cook something on high, don't you think?

∙ 14y agoYour stove probably won't turn on because it is probably aged. But if you just recently got your stove, you might want to call a technician.

∙ 14y agoThe sparker may be wet. Take a hairdryer and turn it on hot and blow it on the starters. Turn off the gas and electricity to the stovetop beforehand.
