maybe its worn synchromesh baulk ring, defective gear interlocking device, seized clutch release bearing, or spigot bearing partially seized on gearbox input shaft....
Had the geabox changed on my Escort when diff bearings went. Mechanics forgot to tighten the drain plug and it was popping out of 3rd when I put the clutch in - shifting gears had a lighter feel as well. I think it was 'cos the oil wasn't filling the clearances on the synchro and the making it easier for everything to move when there was no load on the gearbox.
The truth is, the synchronizer rings have absolutely nothing to do with a transmission staying in a gear or popping out of a gear. Synchronizers only function is to "spin up" the gears as the engagement hub approaches the gear. Your problem is internal bearing wear or external linkage or mount problems.
If your transmission is manual, you will have to change gear. If it is automatic, you won't.
the synchronize in the transmission is bad, that why the jumping out of fifth gear
The transmission is going out and also could be the clutch too it did it to me just got my done both
Yes it is possible, especially if it was not fully in gear and a manual transmission. If it is an automatic, it must be in Park to hold. Always set the parking brake.
3,because the gear ratio in a manual transmission results is a gear ratio of about 3:1 for first gear.
Any Manual transmission can be towed with Manual Gear in Neutral; never engaged in a gear.
That manual transmission doesn't use gear oil. You can use Mercon ATF.
Look at the gear stick, if its auto then you have an auto transmission, if its manual you have a manual transmission.
