Turtles bury themselves to keep warm. Turtles cannot generate heat on their own so they depend on the land to keep them warm. So they will go under rock, leafs, and sometimes the ground (if they are living outside). If they are inside under the proper heating they shouldn't be buring themselves. If they are i would take them to a vet and have them checked for the flu.
Hope this helped ;)
well, if it's digging holes, it may be pregnant. (Turtles can't have babies in the water)
Turtles burrow. It is just doing what is natural for it. It will bury itself if it has enough sand.
There are several animals that bury themselves. Lizards, turtles, hedgehogs and the scarab beetle all bury themselves in dirt.
They hibernate in the silt at the bottom of the ocean.

The tropical freshwater turtle macrochelodina rugosa lays its eggs underwater.
By shrugging themselves into their shell.
Turtles hibernate in the winter. They bury themselves deep in the mud and stay there until spring comes.
green turtles are turtles that are green and swim in the ocean and lay eggs and leave them to survive by themselves
They bury themselves in the soft mud at the bottom of the lake until warm weather returns.
Land turtles defend themselves by going in their shells or finding holes to hide in. Sea turtles find places to hide and also go in their shell for protection.
I don't know... do they live there?
Yes, they do. They bury themselves deep in the mud at the bottom of their favorite pond, and hibernate all winter.
No. They bury them in the sand and look after them. And then they wait for them to hatch open and then they crush the eggshells and throw them into the sea! Hope this helped!
